Agreement reached in principle

After extensive negotiations, the City of St. Albert has agreed in principle to renew its contract with Alberta Health Services to continue providing ambulance services for the City.

At the January 20 City Council Meeting, Council agreed to proceed with a new five-year contract. Although there are a few details yet to be finalized, Council is satisfied with the progress in reaching a new contract that met its needs in an affordable manner, was under budget and was the best course of action to ensure acceptable ambulance services.

“The contract is not going to address all of our concerns regarding service levels,” says Mayor Nolan Crouse. “However, Alberta Health Services is committed to working with the City to provide the best possible services to our residents and we have agreed to move forward.”

Once the details have been worked out and the contract has been signed, more details on the agreement will be announced.
